The recall system is an excellent way to manage follow-up appointments. Recall time periods are determined by the individual practice. The recall time is set by appointment type, specific reason code, procedure code or diagnosis code. The default values can be over ridden by manually entering the recall time frame at patient checkout. Having default recall time periods allows for the efficient reminder to patients that it is time to come in for an appointment. This reminder can be given via a phone call from the phone report or reminders can be generated through the system and mailed to the patient.
